The Egg Foundation

We are passionately committed to making a difference in the world. The Egg Foundation works to directly improve the lives of people globally. We already direct our financial resources, our skills and our experience towards making a difference. We’ve employed our first Change Maker, and we are working on how to share the data we uncover with those who can make a difference where we can’t.

Our change makers

We have a vision to employ people, separate to the core work of our agency, with only one KPI. They report back to us on how they have made a difference to people’s lives that month. Monica Norley is the first of our Change Makers. She has set up an organic soap making business in Uganda called Mama Mzungu. It’s purpose is to provide economic and social empowerment to women and children with albinism in the community. In the six months since Monica became a Change Maker, Mama Mzungu has gone from strength to strength, doubling revenue (profit up ten-fold), finding new distributors, expanding in to Tanzania and employing 13 women with albinism in full time jobs on a living wage. We hope she’ll be the first of many!

Mama Mzungu

Women and Children with Albinism in Uganda (WACWAU) is a registered NGO serving the needs of some of the most vulnerable in Uganda’s communities. Across Africa, people with Albinism experience human rights violations and abuses, as well as health complications and shortened life expectancy. Mama Mzungu creates financial independence, gives societal power and freedom, and helps to build a future for this community.

Meeting unmet needs

An area of the Egg Foundation work we are still developing relates to the insights we uncover during projects for our clients. We discover so many unique unmet needs that don’t relate to our client’s areas of interest that we feel like someone should know about them. Someone who can do something about them. So, we aim to start sharing these insights with charities, or government bodies, set up to address whatever the need is we uncover. We hope this will improve lives and make a difference.
