We have a vision to employ people, separate to the core work of our agency, with only one KPI. They report back to us on how they have made a difference to people’s lives that month. Monica Norley is the first of our Change Makers. She has set up an organic soap making business in Uganda called Mama Mzungu. It’s purpose is to provide economic and social empowerment to women and children with albinism in the community. In the six months since Monica became a Change Maker, Mama Mzungu has gone from strength to strength, doubling revenue (profit up ten-fold), finding new distributors, expanding in to Tanzania and employing 13 women with albinism in full time jobs on a living wage. We hope she’ll be the first of many!
